Residents of HSR Layout pour out woes

The Times of India

Bangalore: “The second sector of HSR Layout looks like a pond when it rains. The fifth, sixth and seventh sectors are also no better. Sewage from third and fourth sectors mix with stormwater in many places and the sewer lines are blocked resulting in a p e r m a n e n t foul smell in that area,’’ said residents of HSR Layout at a public grievance meeting with the BWSSB, organised by the Confederation of HSR Layout Welfare Association and other supporting groups on Saturday. The residents complained that solid waste accumulated in the drainage near the BDA complex. “There should be an area engineer in each layout for periodical check of sewage system,’’ the residents suggested.Venkataraju, BWSSB chief engineer admitted the problems and assured the residents that suitable steps will be taken to solve all the civic issues soon.
